My oldest child just turned 16! Sixteen! 16! XVI! Part of me thinks, of course he's 16! The other part of my thinks that he should still be asking for a sippy cup and snuggling his stuffed whale at bedtime! I've heard it said, "The days go slow, but the years go fast." That is true (mostly...some days fly before I even get through #2 on my to-do list) but it is still a bit of a surprise that we've hit this milestone.
I saw the sketch that I used over at Creative Scrappers and I knew that I wanted to use this WRMK birthday collection: Hip Hip Hooray! to create the layout. I love the bright colors and the festiveness of the papers.
I stayed pretty true to the sketch but I did throw in a few extra pieces of confetti. Additionally, I did NOT use sequins on this layout (a first in a long time) for me! :)
With a great sketch and a great collection, it was really fun creating this layout! It just seems so celebratory to me. And, I'll tell you, this kid is worth celebrating! Thus far, the teenage years pretty much rock!
Thanks for stopping by to look today! Hope you come back again!

Ribbon Carousel Challenge #89: Love, Birthdays & Chicken Soup
Greetings! I am happy to be sharing today, my project that I made for the Ribbon Carousel's 89th challenge! With three great themes to choose from, I went with love, but in a little bit not quite in the traditional sense.
I used the AC/Pebbles collection "From Me to You" for the layout. I don't know if I've ever created a faster layout than this one! These scraps have been sitting on my desk since September when I went to the Scrapbook Steals Retreat. We used them to make a bunch of really cute cards and I wanted to use up the rest!
While the layout itself came together easily, my embellishing took forever! :) I love the clear sequins on this layout though! It gives it a touch of added sparkle!
I also added a few other embellishments like the wooden feathers and birds as well as a banner type cluster in the lower left...
...and upper right corners.
My title was the easiest of all! While most people hear a "love" theme and think their spouse or their kids, it was so easy for me to create a page about my mom! I love spending time with her and I am so proud of her for the incredible person that she is. I am a lucky girl!
Thank you for stopping by to look today! Don't forget that the theme for the RCC January challenge is...Love, Birthdays & Chicken Soup! So, be sure to link up your creation >>here<< and show off your creativity! You can also take a look at all of the other inspiration by checking out the blog today! Prepare to be impressed! :)

More WRMK Sheer Metallic
Hello All! I have another project that I created with the new Sheer Metallic collection from WRMK that I wanted to share today! Take a look at this gorgeous little favor box!
The metallic sheen on these papers is so pretty! I had fun combining the metallic with the sheer vellum paper to create this box. Also, wrapped around the outside is the amazing metallic washi tape! I seriously fell in love with that stuff!
Remember, this collection starts to ship in February so you can look for it then! Thank you for taking a look today!

A Stuck Sketches Challenge
I wanted to share a layout that I created recently for the Stuck Sketches Challenge. I love, love, love this collection from Authentique and I love using it on layouts that focus on school related photos.
My youngest's school has a "Breakfast & Books" once per quarter where the kids can read to their adult and have a light breakfast in the library! As a former teacher, I love this! A great way to get parents into the school and allow the kids to share books together!
I loved the sketch with the three photos but since I only had two photos of this event, I created a banner type piece to go in the center!
I realize it is likely the teacher in me but seriously...how cute is that paper??
I am so glad you took the time to stop by today! If you have time, take a look at the sketch here and maybe play along!

Add a Little Shimmer
There is a lot going on with the metallic trend out there these days. From a girl who loves a little sparkle, I am totally on board with this particular trend. And, gold is back in style along with silver so that makes me happy as well.
Now, if you add a little bronze, you have all the makings of a GORGEOUS scrapbook collection! WRMK has a new collection called Sheer Metallic, which I had the privilege of working with for CHA. I am excited to share a few of the projects that I made with you over the course of the upcoming week/weekend!
First up is this little Pocket Tag Mini Album. The sheer vellum elements of this collection are truly so lovely! Plus, the mix of the three metallics really made for a pretty little album.
Sadly, I didn't get many photos before I had to send the album on its way but the first one above gives you a feel for how pretty this collection is. It is a combination of sheer velum with metallic desgn, solid metallic cardstock, tags, 3x4 cards and much, much more! The collection will be available in February.
Be sure to stop back this weekend to see more of Sheer Metallic! Thanks for stopping by today!

Back in the Saddle
I am the first to admit that as much as I love to scrapbook, it isn't always the first thing that I prioritize for in my day. The dirty dishes, carpool rides, and grocery shopping kind of things tend to take the front seat. However, right now I am at an interim spot, waiting for a few things to start up again, therefore I am trying to get as much scrapping in as possible.
Therefore, I am so happy to say that I participated in the Mid-Week Mojo over at Scrapbook Steals this week and completed their Lolite #6 sketch (created by the awesome Melodee:)
This is a photo that I took at the Scrapbook Steals retreat along with the American Crafts-Party Super Hero collection that I purchased at the warehouse sale. It is really meant for more of a "Super Kid" type of page but since she really is a super friend, why not use it for us ladies too?!?
I loved the bright colors and the chance to use some of the cute little stickers and such that came with the collection.
And, very few of my pages are complete without a few sequins so I had to add those too!
It felt so good to get back to scrapping a Mid-Week Mojo layout. I hope for more creations in the future, time permitting! So glad you stopped by for a look today! Thank you!

Kiwi Lane Blog Hop & Giveaway
Hello! I am glad that you stopped by today to take a look at the project that I created using the Kiwi Lane Designer Templates and the WRMK North Pole Collection! You should have arrived here from Julie Ann's blog. If you got lost along the way, head on back to the start and redirect yourself! :) I had the pleasure of working with the Chevron Templates for this layout.
I just printed my Christmas photos so I thought I'd get started on scrapping them since I have this perfect collection to work with! At first glance, you may notice that the layout doesn't shout "chevrons" but if you take a look at the back, you'll see how I put it together.
I traced each of various widths of chevrons onto the back of my paper. I then cut out the point of each of the chevrons. This allowed for a slit to be formed. I then slid in various patterns of paper to show through on the other side. I love how versatile the designer templates are!
I loved being able to use so many of the fun & festive patterns from this collection on one layout.
I thought that it would be fun to have a giveaway on my blog today along with the great giveaway that Kiwi Lane is having! So, be sure that you are a follower, and, just because I am curious, answer one (or both!) of the following questions:
What time of day do you usually read/check the blogs that you follow?
OR
What is your favorite memory from this holiday season?
Remember that the Kiwi Lane blog hop will run through 11:59 PM MST on Sunday January 5th. And a random winner from ONE of the participating blogs
(including the Kiwi Lane blog), will be given a $25 gift certificate to
the Kiwi Lane Shop, for leaving a comment and will be announced on the
Kiwi Lane blog on Thursday, January 9th.
I will also post my winner on the same day! I am so glad that you stopped by for a look today! Your next stop along the way is >>Stephanie<< so be sure to hop along and comment along the way!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! This time of year always makes me a little sad as we say good bye to the past year. However, being the eternal optimist that I am, I always believe that there will be even better things to come in the new year. So, here is my New Year's wish for all of you!
I used WRMK chalkboard on this card along with some sequins for sparkle and an American Crafts stamp. (Photo taken after sundown, sorry for the poor color quality!)
I hope that your new year truly holds nothing but amazing things! Thanks for looking and thank you to all of my followers! You make blogging fun! :)
