Last Post of 2010

I wanted to get one more post in before the clock chimes twelve times!  I also thought that this would be a fun project to enter into thGlitter is Glam Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!  Play along if you'd like http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/12/next-moxie-fab-world-challenge-glitter.html

Home decor has become a fun paper crafts challenge for me lately.  I like the idea of creating something and then being able to hang it up in my home to look at often.  I just don't get to sit down with my scrapbooks as often as what I'd like.  This is a good way for me to enjoy the fruits of my labor!
I wanted to create something that I could hang up after all of the Christmas decorations were taken down.  I always feel that my home looks so lonely when all of the festivities are over.  However, as soon as I created it, I hung it up and haven't taken in down!  I really love how it turned out and enjoyed the time I spent making it.
I used Echo Park's Wintertime collection for the banner which I have hanging from my fireplace mantel.  The fun part about this was I used an old snack box of my kids' to make the cardboard pieces.  Let's hear it for upcycling!  I just traced the shape from a different mini album and cut it out with my craft knife.
I then used the embellishments that come with the collection as well as a few other pieces to give a little flourish to each piece.  Martha Stewart snow glitter was used over Heidi Swapp Ghost Letters to create the word "snow".  My irock came in handy for the sparkle around the snowman and I have discovered a new love...spray adhesive **cue the singing angels**.  I love how quickly and easily it bonds things together.  I did all of the spraying inside of a large garbage bag so that I wouldn't have to go outside (and freeze) and it worked fabulously!  Below are some close-ups of each piece!
Thanks for looking and feel free to click on the follow button!  I cleaned out my craft room recently and I think that if I can get a good size base of followers, I'll do a giveaway (I adore giveaways--giving or receiving!)  Many blessings to you and your family in the new year!

A Compilation of Creativity

My favorite spot to check on Facebook is the Scrapbooksteals.com page.  I love sharing my love of scrapbooking with others who enjoy the hobby as much as I do.  Not to mention the fact that seeing what some of these ladies create is infinitely inspiring!
As I've mentioned in earlier posts, Kristy, from Scrapbook Steals has a sketch each Wednesday (Mid-Week Mojo) that we are invited to interpret and post on their FB page.  So far, she has posted and I've created all nineteen (almost twenty!) of the sketches she has posted!  I love her creativity and her style is one that I can easily mesh with mine.
Since we are now up to Mid-Week Mojo #11-#20, I thought I would post all of them here (and #20 when I finish it).  Some were created with lots of time spent and some just were not speaking to me that day and I'd like to go back to sometime.  Either way, it is fun to see what had been created since September.  I should also note that I am wrapping up my Disney album and the Mid-Week Mojo is the sole reason it is almost done!  Here you go....
