Fun to Play at CHA!

Some people want to meet their favorite sports hero. Some people want to shake a presidents hand. Not me. I have simple dreams. I just wanted to meet some of the scrapbook folks that I admire and follow in cyberspace. CHA proved to fulfill that desire plus some!
It started with Kristy from Scrapbooksteals asking me if I wanted to help her teach a We R Memory Keepers class using the awesome new mini lucky 8 punches (as well as many more fun tools). I said yes, of course, and I was on my way. Some serious fun was to be had.
Below are just a few of the photos that I took of some of my favorite scrapbook "celebrities" and myself. Everyone was so gracious and kind when asked to pose with me. Thankfully nobody thought I was a lunatic (or at least they were too polite to say so!)
Amy Tan & Shimelle Laine took time for a photo at the American Crafts booth!

A little story about Julie Comstock from Cosmo Cricket...I have been a long time follower of her blog and find her absolutely hysterical. I seriously laugh aloud every time I read her blog. I really, really, wanted to meet her but was really shy about doing so. (She is a scrappy celebrity in my world). So, with a little push from my friend Brittany (the awesome buyer for Scrapbooksteals.com) I introduced myself. I must say she is as sweet and wonderful as I hoped she'd be! Very willing to pose with me for photos (yes, I took several). It made my day!

The amazingly crafty Erin Madsen from DCWV!

Two of my favorite people in the crafty world..well, really...any world, Kristy Lee from Scrapbooksteals.com and Melodee from Authentique! I love these ladies!

Lindsay Moore from Carta Bella (formerly from Cosmo Cricket). When he was at CC he got my laughing almost as much as Julie so meeting him was just as much of a pleasure. What a great guy! He kept telling me to stop apologizing for feeling like a poser since I wasn't a buyer but was at the trade show. To which I responded, "I'm sorry." Ha! Perhaps a little star struck! I have to say, those Carta Bella lines are divine! Love their Alphabet Junction collection!

Having just received my very first Lawn Fawn stamps and falling in love with every one of them, I was thrilled to have the chance to meet the sweet Kelly Marie Alvarez! I also had my photo taken with the ever talented Britta Swiderski but can't seem to upload it. Take my word for it, she is adorable! Their booth was so cute, decorated with stamps in life size!

I have another complete set of photos with all of my sight seeing excursions as well! I don't think I will blog them but I am certain they will be showing up in my scrapbook pages soon! Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you were able to feel some of the excitement that I felt while at CHA!

Bright & Cheery

How can a rainbow not make one smile? Add some cute little cupcakes (and a dapper cupcake with a bowtie) and you may just laugh aloud! Well, that is how I felt anyway after making this card. I love anything rainbow & stamping these little cuties using my new Lawn Fawn stamps proved to be a fun mix!

I created this card for the Lawn Fawn Lawnscaping Challenge which challenged followers to use dimension in their project.

I do wish you could see the dimension a little better than in these photos but take my word for it, this card has depth! I alternately popped out the rainbow stripes as well as progressively created dimension with the cupcakes from top to bottom. My birthday banner is also waving in the wind! Here is a close-up to see the depth "behind the scenes". I also had to link up my card with the Colour Me Happy blog which is sharing my love of rainbows this month!
I am happy that you stopped by today and I am hoping that this card made your day a little brighter! Until next time...

I wanted to create a thank you card using the colors of that ribbon as inspiration. It is bright and cheery for the bright and cheery little girl I drove to school each day last year. I think she will like it!

This month's Authentique Sketch Challenge was perfect for my photos of the castle at night! I love this Celebrate collection so much and since Disney is one big celebration, I decided to use it for my layout!

I was full of scrapbooking ideas when I first saw the Fancy Pants Designs Ribbon Bundle that I got to work with. I quickly thought of something I've been wanting to make that was a little "off the page". A trip to the fabric store and I was set! A cute memo board was created. The ribbon in this set is so strong and the colors are really fun. I enjoyed finding the material that would be a perfect fit!

After I made the memo board, I spotted a photo of my hubby and I that I've been waiting to scrap and decided it was time. I got out my "It's the Little Things" collection and made this layout using another variety of the ribbon in this collection. I even pulled out my sewing machine that has been acting up lately (I will save that crazy story for another blog post) and I sewed the ribbon on with a variety of stitches. This one I loved so much I hung it up on my display board in my kitchen!

Lastly, with all of the graduation parties that we've attended this June/July, I made a card using the last of the varieties of ribbon. (The verse has a bit of a sparkly sheen on it which was a little tricky to photograph.) The ribbon created a classic look to finish off the card.

I am so happy that you stopped by to take a look at my projects today! I hope that you enjoyed seeing all of the creative uses for this amazing Fancy Pants Ribbon from all of these crafty ladies!  However, I couldn't let you go without a giveaway though could I?!?

Layout of a Hoarder

I know you all have them. The collections that you keep in your scrapbook stash. You know the ones...the "I will wait for the perfect photo" collection or the "This was the collection I bought with ______ and want to save it" or even better, "It's just too pretty to cut in to"! I am completely guilty of the same thing. I made this layout a while back but realized that I never put it on my blog. So not only do I get to share it with you today, I get to fill you in on my little hoarding secret, lol!
This American Crafts Abode Collection was purchased a loooonnnnng time ago. I have many pieces of it still intact due to the fact that I fell in love with it. I am not sure what it is about it, the color, the images, the shapes, I just really enjoy (not) using it. So, I decided what better way to use it than on another love of mine, coffee!
I started drinking coffee about two years ago (after about a 20 year dry spell) and fell in love with all of the creamers that can jazz up my coffee. It is no secret that I also love a little sweetness so coffee+sweet creamers=happiness for me! It is fun to try to find the perfect blend for my morning cup. This layout was created in honor of sweet love!:)

For the most part, I used the Abode collection along with a few Pebbles buttons, Heidi Swapp Ghost Letters and some MLS tiny alphas. My "coffee ring" was created with Tim Holtz distress ink. And, of course, what coffee layout wouldn't use a coffee filter (see upper left!) This was a fun layout to do and it came together super quick! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it.
I saw that I now have 60 followers! Welcome to any new followers! Check back again on Friday, I will have more to share with you then...or maybe even before that! I've been getting crafty lately!
